Mobile Computer Technician
aur Computer Service is looking for customer service minded, talented, self-starting individuals in the Milwaukee area who are interested in growing with us and currently seeking employment and looking for a job. As a mobile computer technician, your primary responsibility would be providing unparalleled customer service while making service calls for both homes and businesses in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. Skills required for service calls may include:
- Internet Connectivity Knowledge such as DSL, Cable, XData, Mobile Broadband, T-1, Dial-up, and devices connecting to them such as routers, switches, hubs, bridges, wireless, and a wide variety of network-connected devices such as computers, printers, ip cameras, PDA's, and more.
- Wired and wireless network installation and troubleshooting including network cabling and phone cable wiring.
- PC hardware, software, and peripheral troubleshooting, repair, tune-up, upgrades of all types.
- Sales of equipment and services, including asking for referrals.
- Training on basic software skills and writing customer self-service guides.
- Making yourself available to customers you service for follow-up support.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills to work with a wide variety of people while maintaining professionalism.
- Very strong knowledge of PC Hardware and Windows 98, ME, 2000, 2000 Server, XP Home/Pro/Media Center, 2003 Server, Vista (all versions).
- Previous job experience providing professional computer repair services.
Other tasks you may be required to perform are:
- Go through equipment given to us for recycling for reusable parts.
- Refurbish and rebuild computers.
- Help answer the phone and provide tech support.
- Participate in marketing events and specials, and provide assistance with marketing projects in general.
- Attend weekly company meetings and provide input and constructive criticism.
- Prepare quotes and estimates for customers.
- Log your activities and hours on paper and / or in our web-based tracking systems.
- Opening and closing our shops, and the tasks associated with that.
- Other tasks we may need you to perform which are not listed here.
You are required to have the following:
- A valid driver's license in good standing.
- A clear criminal history and not a user of illicit drugs.
- A presentable vehicle which is in good working order which is insured, and which you are willing and able to use for work-related purposes.
- A vision and desire to grow with us into Milwaukee's most popular computer shop.
- An enthusiasm and passion for excellence in customer service, particularly as it relates to technology services.
- Promptness when going to appointments.
- Ability to work 20 hours or more per week on an ongoing basis.
- Ability to lift and move computer equipment weighing up to 40 lbs; for example, no problems moving a 19 inch CRT monitor.
- Committment to remaining exclusively loyal to aur Computer Service so there are no conflicts of interest.
- Extremely strong computer repair skills, as will be determined by a skills test you will be required to take prior to working with us which includes both written and demonstration components.
Definite pluses include:
- Experience with network cameras, specifically Panasonic Network Cameras.
- Web site development and programming knowledge inlcuding HTML, ASP, SQL, Javascript, and more. Experience with Dreamweaver / Fireworks / Flash.
- Experience running cables through walls and floors, both indoors and outdoors.
- Available to work on weekends.
- Experience with Quickbooks.
- Two or more years recent job experience in professional computer repair services.
